# Cat SVG shapes

25 cat designs, drawn as clean single-colour silhouettes that work as a base layer or a standalone cut. The set covers sitting and arched silhouettes, whiskers, paw prints and cat-lady lettering. They are made for pet-parent shirts, food-bowl vinyl, memorial signs, kids' room decor, tote bags and the car decal that names the breed.

Export **SVG** for any cutting machine, or **DXF** for Silhouette Studio Basic and laser software. Because these are single-colour silhouettes the export is one clean path per shape.

## What people make with cat shapes

Pet-parent shirts, food-bowl vinyl, memorial signs, kids' room decor, tote bags and the car decal that names the breed, those are the pieces this collection gets used for. In this format they go on layered signs, shadow boxes, stencils, card fronts and any piece that needs a clean base shape.

## Building on a shape

These are deliberately simple, which makes them the base layer for something more complex: offset one to create a backing in a second colour, slice a piece of text out of it for a knockout effect, or use it as the cut line behind a printed design. A silhouette with a clean closed path is far easier to build on than a detailed illustration.

## Getting cat designs right

A silhouette has no interior detail to fall back on, so the outline carries the entire read. Judge it at the size you will actually cut, not zoomed in. Whiskers are the thinnest element in the set. Below about 6in wide they need a slight offset or they weed away with the waste. Fur, whiskers and legs are the thin features that break. Before cutting at a small size, add a small contour offset to thicken the whole silhouette by a hair, it keeps the fine detail attached instead of weeding away with the waste.

## Questions

### What size should I cut cat shapes at?

Car decals want 5–8in and permanent outdoor vinyl. Food bowls take 2–3in. Shirt fronts at 10in.

### What is included in the cat collection?

25 designs covering sitting and arched silhouettes, whiskers, paw prints and cat-lady lettering, supplied as SVG artwork to open in CricutCraft Studio. Customize a design, set the finished size and choose an export format for your project. Check the preview and free or premium access before opening a file.

### Can I combine these with other designs?

Yes, that is the main use. Slice text out of a shape for a knockout, offset it to make a backing layer in a second colour, or weld several together into one outline. Everything stays a vector, so the result is still resizable with no quality loss.

### Will these open in Cricut Design Space?

Export SVG from CricutCraft Studio, then use Upload in Design Space to add the file to the canvas. Check the finished size and the operation assigned to each layer before preparing the cutting mat.

### Can I sell what I make with cat shapes?

Yes on the paid plan, which includes a commercial licence for the physical products you make and sell, layered signs, shadow boxes, stencils, card fronts and any piece that needs a clean base shape included. Reselling or redistributing the design files themselves is not permitted on any plan.
