# Snowflake SVG shapes

50 snowflake designs, drawn as clean single-colour silhouettes that work as a base layer or a standalone cut. The set covers six-point crystals, simple flakes and dense lace-style flakes. They are made for ornaments, stockings, gift tags, matching family pyjamas, advent boards and the door signs that go up the day the tree does.

Export **SVG** for any cutting machine, or **DXF** for Silhouette Studio Basic and laser software. Because these are single-colour silhouettes the export is one clean path per shape.

## What people make with snowflake shapes

Ornaments, stockings, gift tags, matching family pyjamas, advent boards and the door signs that go up the day the tree does, those are the pieces this collection gets used for. In this format they go on layered signs, shadow boxes, stencils, card fronts and any piece that needs a clean base shape.

## Building on a shape

These are deliberately simple, which makes them the base layer for something more complex: offset one to create a backing in a second colour, slice a piece of text out of it for a knockout effect, or use it as the cut line behind a printed design. A silhouette with a clean closed path is far easier to build on than a detailed illustration.

## Getting snowflake designs right

A silhouette has no interior detail to fall back on, so the outline carries the entire read. Judge it at the size you will actually cut, not zoomed in. The lace-style flakes are the hardest cut in a winter set, arms are thin and radial. Stay above 5in. Ornaments are the trap: at 3in, a design that looked fine on screen has strokes below the weeding threshold. Check the thinnest line is at least 0.06in at final size before you cut, or you will spend the evening picking vinyl out with a pin.

## When to make these

Searches start in September, run hard through November, and stop dead on 25 December. Build the listings in August. If you sell, that is the window the listings need to be live in, search traffic for a seasonal theme arrives weeks before the date, not on it. Simple shapes are what batch well, so this is the set to scale up when a season gets busy and the intricate designs stop being worth the weeding time.

## Questions

### What size should I cut snowflake shapes at?

Ornaments land at 3–4in. Stocking name plates want 5–6in of width. A door hanger reads at 12–16in. Gift tags are 2–2.5in and are where thin strokes disappear.

### What is included in the snowflake collection?

50 designs covering six-point crystals, simple flakes and dense lace-style flakes, supplied as SVG artwork to open in CricutCraft Studio. Customize a design, set the finished size and choose an export format for your project. Check the preview and free or premium access before opening a file.

### Can I combine these with other designs?

Yes, that is the main use. Slice text out of a shape for a knockout, offset it to make a backing layer in a second colour, or weld several together into one outline. Everything stays a vector, so the result is still resizable with no quality loss.

### Will these open in Cricut Design Space?

Export SVG from CricutCraft Studio, then use Upload in Design Space to add the file to the canvas. Check the finished size and the operation assigned to each layer before preparing the cutting mat.

### Can I sell what I make with snowflake shapes?

Yes on the paid plan, which includes a commercial licence for the physical products you make and sell, layered signs, shadow boxes, stencils, card fronts and any piece that needs a clean base shape included. Reselling or redistributing the design files themselves is not permitted on any plan.
