# Sublimation designs for mugs, tumblers and shirts

### Can I use sublimation designs with a Cricut?

Sublimation needs a sublimation printer, sublimation ink and a polyester or poly-coated blank. A heat press such as a Cricut EasyPress or Mug Press can press the transfer, and a cutting machine can trim the transfer sheet. Export the design as PNG for printing.

### What file format do sublimation designs need?

A PNG at the final physical size, with a transparent background so no white box prints around the artwork. Set the size to match your blank before exporting, rather than enlarging a small file later.

### Do I mirror a sublimation print?

Usually yes, because the transfer is pressed face down onto the blank, so text and asymmetric designs print mirrored. Follow your transfer paper and blank instructions for mirroring, time and temperature.
