What people make with baby watercolour

Matching family shirts, nursery decor, milestone boards, birth announcements, reunion tees and photo-wall lettering — those are the pieces this collection gets used for. In this format they go on printed wall art, greeting cards, planner pages, sublimation blanks and digital layouts.

Printing at quality

Watercolour art lives or dies on print resolution. Export at the final physical size and at least 300 DPI — a file that looks crisp on screen at 72 DPI will band and soften the moment it is printed at 8in. Soft watercolour edges also need a white or very light substrate; on a coloured blank the pale washes at the edge of each stroke disappear entirely.

Getting baby designs right

Soft edges are the whole point, which makes this print-then-cut territory: the cut line goes around the artwork, never through the wash, or you lose the feathered edge that distinguishes it. Nursery pieces get washed constantly — press onesie designs at the lower end of the HTV range so the fabric survives. A family set is one design at several sizes plus a changing name, which is exactly what a variable-data merge is for. Set the sizes once, feed the names in, and cut the whole set in a single run.

Exporting for your machine

Export PNG at 300 DPI or higher for printing and sublimation, or PDF at true physical size for a press-ready layout. A cut line is optional: add a contour offset first if you want print-then-cut.

Cut, score, draw and engrave operations are written as named layers, so Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio and laser software map them to the right tool without manual reassignment. For a printed sheet, the print-then-cut guide covers registration and bleed.

Questions

Adult fronts 10–11in, youth 7–8in, toddler 5–6in — the same design cut at three sizes is what a family set actually is. Nursery wall lettering runs 18–24in.

25 files covering prams, rattles, milestone numerals, footprints and nursery lettering, drawn as watercolour clip art for print, sublimation and digital layouts. Every one is a true vector, so it resizes without quality loss and opens straight in the browser studio for editing before export.

Not directly — watercolour art is full-colour and has soft edges, which is the opposite of what a blade needs. Use it for print-then-cut, sublimation or digital layouts. If you need a cut line, add a contour offset around the artwork and print-then-cut instead.

Yes — Edit in the browser and export print-ready PNG or PDF at 300 DPI. In Design Space use Upload → Upload Image; layers arrive separated because each operation carries a distinct fill.

Yes on the paid plan, which includes a commercial licence for the physical products you make and sell — printed wall art, greeting cards, planner pages, sublimation blanks and digital layouts included. Reselling or redistributing the design files themselves is not permitted on any plan.
