What people make with baseball sublimations
Team shirts, gym bags, water bottles, car decals, equipment labels and the sign that goes over a home gym door, those are the pieces this collection gets used for. In this format they go on polyester shirts, poly-coated tumblers, mousepads, ceramic mugs and sublimation blanks, polyester or a poly coating only, never untreated cotton.
Printing and pressing
Export the finished artwork as PNG at the size needed for your blank. Print using compatible sublimation ink and transfer paper, then follow the blank and transfer manufacturer’s instructions for temperature, time, pressure and mirroring. A mug, tumbler and shirt can require different equipment and settings; test your exact combination before a batch.
Getting baseball designs right
Sublimation ink bonds only to polyester and polymer coating, so the blank decides the result more than the artwork does, the same file is vivid on a coated mug and washed out on cotton. The red stitching is a second layer over the ball. Cut it separately, stitching cut as holes loses the whole effect. Curved surfaces, bottles, bats, helmets, need a design that is narrow enough not to wrinkle. Anything wider than about 3in on a standard bottle will crease at the edges no matter how carefully it is applied.
When to make these
Follows season schedules: spring for baseball, autumn for football, January for gym. If you sell, that is the window the listings need to be live in, search traffic for a seasonal theme arrives weeks before the date, not on it. Press a sample on the exact blank first. The same design reads noticeably darker on a coated mug than on a poly tee, and a seasonal run is the wrong time to find the gap.
Exporting for your machine
Export PNG at final physical size and at least 300 DPI, then print onto sublimation paper. There is no cut line and no weeding, the design is pressed into polyester, not cut from vinyl.
For cutting projects, import the SVG into Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio and laser software and check the operation assigned to each layer before making the project. For a printed sheet, the print-then-cut guide covers registration and bleed.
