What people make with rainbow shapes
Wall art, tote bags, kitchen towels, journal covers, wedding stationery and layered shadow-box pieces — those are the pieces this collection gets used for. In this format they go on layered signs, shadow boxes, stencils, card fronts and any piece that needs a clean base shape.
Building on a shape
These are deliberately simple, which makes them the base layer for something more complex: offset one to create a backing in a second colour, slice a piece of text out of it for a knockout effect, or use it as the cut line behind a printed design. A silhouette with a clean closed path is far easier to build on than a detailed illustration.
Getting rainbow designs right
A silhouette has no interior detail to fall back on, so the outline carries the entire read. Judge it at the size you will actually cut, not zoomed in. A rainbow is nested arcs in separate colours — cut them as one nested set so the bands stay concentric. Florals are the most layer-heavy subject in the catalogue — petals, leaves and centres are separate colours. Nest all layers on one mat before cutting; a five-layer floral laid out naively wastes more vinyl than any other design type.
Exporting for your machine
Export SVG for any cutting machine, or DXF for Silhouette Studio Basic and laser software. Because these are single-colour silhouettes the export is one clean path per shape.
Cut, score, draw and engrave operations are written as named layers, so Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio and laser software map them to the right tool without manual reassignment. For a printed sheet, the print-then-cut guide covers registration and bleed.
