What people make with wedding shapes
Welcome signs, table numbers, place cards, favour boxes, bridal-party shirts, cake toppers and the vinyl on forty champagne flutes — those are the pieces this collection gets used for. In this format they go on layered signs, shadow boxes, stencils, card fronts and any piece that needs a clean base shape.
Building on a shape
These are deliberately simple, which makes them the base layer for something more complex: offset one to create a backing in a second colour, slice a piece of text out of it for a knockout effect, or use it as the cut line behind a printed design. A silhouette with a clean closed path is far easier to build on than a detailed illustration.
Getting wedding designs right
A silhouette has no interior detail to fall back on, so the outline carries the entire read. Judge it at the size you will actually cut, not zoomed in. Every piece in a wedding set must share one font and one weight. Set them once and reuse across all forty items. Weddings are the highest-count personalisation job most makers take on: forty names, each one different, all needing to be identical in style. Script must be welded, and the whole set should be cut from one merged run so letter spacing does not drift between guest three and guest thirty-eight.
When to make these
Bookings run March through October, with planning traffic six months ahead. If you sell, that is the window the listings need to be live in — search traffic for a seasonal theme arrives weeks before the date, not on it. Simple shapes are what batch well, so this is the set to scale up when a season gets busy and the intricate designs stop being worth the weeding time.
Exporting for your machine
Export SVG for any cutting machine, or DXF for Silhouette Studio Basic and laser software. Because these are single-colour silhouettes the export is one clean path per shape.
Cut, score, draw and engrave operations are written as named layers, so Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio and laser software map them to the right tool without manual reassignment. For a printed sheet, the print-then-cut guide covers registration and bleed.
Wedding in other formats
The same theme drawn for a different medium — printed, pressed or cut.
